Eagles make a roster move ahead of the Jaguars game

The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced one roster move ahead of their Week 9 home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

TE E.J. Jenkins was temporarily elevated from the practice squad.

Note: teams can temporarily promote practice squad players up to three times each in the regular season and an unlimited number of times in the postseason.

E.J. JENKINS

This is Jenkins’ third and final elevation. The Eagles previously elevated him for each of their first two games this season. Serving as the third tight end, Jenkins was limited to five offensive snaps and 15 special teams snaps.

Jenkins will be TE3 for the Eagles against the Jags. With Dallas Goedert out, Grant Calcaterra and Jack Stoll are the top two tight ends.

A little interesting that the Eagles decided they needed three tight ends this week after only rolling with two in each of their last two games.

The Eagles notably chose temporarily elevating Jenkins over activating Albert Okwuegbunam from injured reserve, which would’ve required opening a roster spot. Albert O’s practice window was opened on October 16, so, the team must either activate him to the roster by November 6 or keep him on IR for rest of the season.

AN EYE ON THE JAGUARS’ MOVES

The Jags placed Christian Kirk on injured reserve, as expected. They also temporarily elevated practice squad wide receivers Austin Trammell and Elijah Cooks.

With these moves, the Jags currently have six wide receivers eligible to play on Sunday: Brian Thomas Jr., Gabe Davis, Parker Washington, Tim Jones, Trammell, and Cooks.

Of course, both BTJ and Davis were ruled questionable to play. Doug Pederson said they’ll be game-time decisions but the Jags seem to be preparing to play without at least one of those two starters, if not both.

We’ll find out if BTJ and Davis are suiting up or not when inactives are officially announced at 2:35 PM Eastern on Sunday afternoon.
